Blaenavon, or correctly Blaenafon was awarded World Heritage status in 2000. It was one of the cradles
of the industrial revolution. Today the sky is no longer illuminated by furnaces or the river blackened by coal dust,
it is green again. The town is close to the Brecon Beacons National park and Black Mountains. Blaenafon is nestled
at the head of the Eastern valley, on the edge of the South Wales coalfied amid some beautiful
mountains,
moorland and beech woodland. Here are some local places of interest and local businesses.
